Very Fine Wootz Karud Dagger - 8857
A very fine ‘KARUD’ (the common name for a ‘Pesh-Kabz’ with straight blade). from North India or Afghanistan origin. A very fine wootz blade with dark high contrast pattern, 11 inches long with acute point and reinforced T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with good age patina. The grip strap and bolsters are steel very richely inlaid with gold koftgari decoration. The scabbard is wood covered with red velvet and mounted with engraved and gilded steel fittings. Total length (in scabbard) 18 inches. Very good condition. A very high quality item for the advanced collector. |
