Dagger of the Hadendoa Tribe, Ethiopia - 5908

The classical dagger of the ‘Hadendoa’ tribes from South Sudan, North Ethiopia. The blade is much influenced from the Arab Jambia, curved and double edged with flat diamond cross section, 7 ½ inches long. The hilt is of the classical ‘X’ shaped carved from black wood and the grip is bound with silver wire. Tooled leather sheath with silver fittings. This is a 20thCentury piece, probably from the 40thm with all parts original and in very good condition.
