Up for sale is this very fine and very unusual “PIHA KAHETTA”, the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). The 5 inches blade with a down curving spine is typical to early form of these knives, 18 C or earlier. The brass handle is lavishly inlayed with silver floral pattern. This knife comes with an accompanied "stylus" (scarce) with steel pike and brass with finely chiseled silver handle. Original wood scabbard with silver locket. Total length 9 1/2 inches. Excellent condition.
