Good Jambiya Dagger from South Iraq Kurdistan - 5902

A very good typical jambiya dagger from Iraq, most probably from the South. The sharply curved blade is 9 inches long, with a central rib and forged from wootz steel. Probably of Persian origin. The hilt is carved from a solid piece of water Buffalo black horn with a flared pommel. The scabbard is silver, decorated with chased and gilded patterns and set with turquoise stone. Altogether very good condition. All parts original, no restored, replaced or added parts. Minor dents and old repairs of the scabbard tip. Few turquoise pieces are missing. |
