Choora Dagger from the Khayber Pass, Very Low Price - 9062
This Choora knife is a typical example from the second half of the 19th century and it is coming from the Khayber pass area between India and Afghanistan. It was carried by the Mahsud people residing in this area. The blade is 9 inches long with the usual “T” back and reinforced edge. The grips are made of four sectors of ivory, riveted to the tang with four rivets. The bolster and the hilt strap are white metal. The scabbard is wood, covered with red leather. Total length in scabbard 14 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Minor re shaping of the blade tip. Losses to the leather cover. Very low price. |
