This Jambiya / Khanjar dagger is Persian, Qajar period, mid 19 C. Very fine curved blade with central rib 9 1/2 inches long, finely forged from watered steel (Wootz, Damascus) of clear and high contrast pattern. The handle is made of steel, finely chiseled in a classical Qajar decoration style of inscription in Arabic letters and gold inlaid frames. Total length 14 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard.
