This is a nice and old Moro Barong. The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This blade is 17 inches long (longer than the average barong blade). The hilt is carved from a beautiful grained wood in a very classical form, bound to the blade tang with a long silver collar covered by three bands of braided cotton. The scabbard is wood bound with two bands of Rattan strips and lightly carved on the front face. Very good condition. Good blade with minor edge nicks and discoloration. Few old cracks to the wood scabbard and a small chip at the tip of the hilt.
