This is a 18 Century Armor piercing Katar push dagger. There are not many mail shirts that will stand this massive blade driven through its rings. It is diamond shaped through its entire length (very unusual) and slightly hollow ground. thicker than 9/16 inches (more than14 mm) at its base. The blade is 9 ½ inches long, probably forged from pattern welded (Damascus) steel. The two cross bars and the 6 inches side bars are covered with silver and decorated with medalions set with gold Arabic inscriptions. Blade in excellent condition and more than 90% of the silver cover remained.
