Pedang Sword, Indonesia, Very Rare Form - 8965
This form of sword from Sumatra, Indonesia is known as Pedang I. It has a clear influence from the Indian subcontinent and usually employs a foreign blade, as most probably the case here: A fine saber fullered blade, Probably an import from India, 31 inches long. Steel basket hilt with down pointing langets and a pommel spike. All very nicely engraved. Total length 38 inches. Very good condition. For similar swords see A.G.
