Ivory Handled Flywhisk, East Africa, 1926 - 8954

Not really a weapon but definitely an interesting item from the colonialism period in Africa. This beautiful flywhisk is coming from East Africa, with an ivory handle carved with a human head and mounted with a bundle of thick hair, probably horse hair. The handle is engraved: G.C. FIRBANK 25.12.1926 . Handle 8 1/2 inches. Total length 24 inches approximately. |
