This Georgian Kindjal dagger is one of the better examples we have seen. A multi fuller blade 11 1/2 inches long Mounted with very well executed silver handle and scabbard, beautifully chased and decorated with niello design. On the rear side of the scabbard there is an image of a sitting person. A Russian name is engraved on the tail of the scabbard with its initials also engraved on the pommel back side. A (later) date 1963, is added engraved at the back of the scabbard. Total length 18 1/2 inches. Very good condition with minor sharpening scratches on the blade. This is an early 20 C. very complete item in very nice condition. The date of 1963 was added later, probably when this dagger was purchased or presented as a commemoration
