Rare Ancient Saber / Sword from Central Asia, 9-10 C. - 8814
Up for sale is this rare and ancient Saber / sword of the earliest form, circa 9-10 C. excavated in Central Asia. The slightly curved heavy blade is 28 inches long and almost 3/8 inches (7.5 mm) thick, with a 6 inches raised yelmen back edge) of clear diamond cross section. Remains of steel collar at the top of the blade. Excavated condition but very solid. This sword was excavated in Central Asia with a lot of other swords, all dates to the 9th or 10th C. It is believed that this saber is one of the earliest sabers known. Swords from this period are very rare.
