Very Unusual Indo-Persian Kard Dagger - 5888

This is one of the most interesting Indo-Persian blades I have seen. A very slender very slightly curved blade 7 ½ inches long, with a central rib and forged from beautiful wootz (Damascus) steel. It is reminding in a way a spear blade but the curvature is not so common in Persian spear head. Also the handle with the horn grips and the leather scabbard with the white metal tip are all original and were made together with the blade and not a later addition or a secondary use of a spear blade as one might think of. Very good plus condition, with minor denting to the scabbard tip. A surprise item for the Kard collectors offered here at a surprisingly attractive price, considering its quality and rarity. |
