Fine Sacrificial Kora Sword with Scabbard, Nepal - 8556
This is a sacrificial Kora sword and it is constructed to exactly meet this purpose: Heavy, down curving, blade, with its deadly sharp edge on the concave side and with wide heavy tip to provide the weight needed for beheading an animal with one sword stroke. 19 inches blade, chiseled and painted red along the spine. and marked with the guarding eye talisman near the tip. The handle is steel bounds with fiber strip to provide a good grip. The hilt has a D guard which is unusual for kora swords. This Kora comes with its original leather covered wood scabbard opened at its back. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. The scabbard tip is lightly damaged. Kora with scabbard are quite scarce and hard to find. This sword is coming from the collection of John Powell, SF, a world known collection of Nepalese and related weapons. |
