A knife of the Taiwanese people - a very fine example of a very rare knife. The single edge blade is 18 inches long. The handle is wood, painted red black and gold and set with metal strips and round inserts. The sheath is wood half open and partially covered with pierced and cut brass holding the blade in position. Back side of the scabbard is painted red and partially covered with brass cuts in the shape of Chinese symbols. Total length 24 ½ inches. Very good condition. A fine and rare mid 19 C. Authentic knife.
