This short knife in the shape of a small Yataghan is of Turkish origin, early to mid 19 C also known as Bichaq. its single edge blade is 8 1/2 inches long, finely forged from pattern welded steel in the pattern known as Turkish Ribbon, made from several layers of twisted steel bars. The Handle is covered with chased silver as well as the scabbard. Total length 14 inches. Very good condition.
