Up for sale is this very Fine and early Kattar dagger. The blade is finely forged 10 1/2 inches long, with a thickened armor piercing tip. It is riveted to the steel handle with curling side bars and pierced polygonal cross bar. The handle is entirely covered with silver and very finely engraved with floral design. This Kattar comes with its original scabbard with gilded copper locket and chape. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade and minor losses to the gilding. A fine early piece, probably mid to late 18 C.
