Probably of Visayan origin from the Philippines, this fine sword has a heavy, beveled edge, 19 1/2 inches blade. Finely carved horn handle with round wood cross guard and steel collar. Wood scabbard bound with tortoise shell and brass bands and a beautifully carved horn mouth. Total length 25 inches. Very good condition. Several forging flaws on the blade. Probably late 19 C authentic item.
