This very fine piece is coming from Bukhara. A typical knife with very fine wootz blade with ladder pattern, 7 inches long. The bolsters and grip strap are chased gilded silver and the grips are walrus ivory. The ring of small turquoise stones set between the grips and the bolsters are very typical to Bukhara knives. The scabbard is original, with big and heavy silver locket and chape, finely decorated with niello work. Total length 12 inches. Very good condition. The blade has seen some sharpening attempts. The right grip has hairline cracks in two places but hold very solid. Three small turquoise stones were replaced with red stones. The scabbard fabric is a later replacement. A fine complete item.
