This short sword is coming from Java, Indonesia, one of the many variant of swords known as Parang . The blade is slightly up-curving with a ridged spine, 23 inches long. It is finely forged from laminated steel. The handle is highly polished honey colored horn, most probably Rhino horn. The scabbard is wood, bound with silver bands, with layers of horn and bone at its mouth. Total length 28 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Scabbard tip is restored.
