Very Fine Shamshir with Assadollah Wootz Blade and Carved Handle - 8735
Up for sale is this fantastic early Shamshir sword
related to Assadollah, the famous Persian sword maker. The heavy blade is Wootz, signed with gold inlay work Amal-e Assadollah Isfahani . The blade is also marked with a gold inlaid "Badouh" (Magic Square), a good luck talisman to the sword owner. The handle is Indian, with finely carved ivory grips and engraved gilded copper cross guard grip strap and pommel cap. Length 36 inches. A very fine sword. |
