This unusual and rare sword is most probably 19 C., coming from one of the minorities group in South West China. A good heavy blade, most probably laminated and 25 inches long, single edged and quite sharp. The 12 inches hardwood handle with the ring shape steel pommel is beautifully carved with leopards (or other big cat) and birds. The scabbard is softer wood and may be later to the sword. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade and handle. Minor wood chips from the scabbard. A rare find. Exact origin is not known.
