Very Early Fine Indian Sword with European Blade - 8674
Up for sale is this very early Indian sword, probably late 17 to early 18 C. It employs a good straight blade, 31 inches long, fullered and with a spatula shapes tip. The blade is double edged to most of its length and only its upper part is single edged. The spine side is marked on its upper part with the "eyelashes" markings. Steel handle of early type with long langets, inlaid with silver (true inlay). Total length 36 inches. Very good condition to age. Good age patina on both the blade and the handle. Some losses to the silver inlay. A fine rare sword |
