This is NOT a tourist piece although it might look so. This is an old Khukuri, probably 1940-50, good 11 inches blade, brass bolsters and horn handle with pommel carved in the shape of a lion head. The scabbard fittings are gilded copper with elaborate filigree work, set with colored stones (glass ?? and turquoise). Total length 15 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Back compartment and accessories are missing. This Khukuri comes from the collection of John Powell, SF, a world known collection of Nepalese and related weapons.
