Up for sale is this Chinese double mace, composed of two heavy maces in a wood scabbard. The maces "blades" are steel of rectangular cross section, 13 1/2 inches long. The grips are covered with hide. The wood scabbard is covered with leather painted and lacquered black with raised Chinese letters below the leather. Heavy steel mounts on the scabbard. Total length 23 1/2 inches. Very good condition to age. Well patinated blades with shallow pitted spots. Losses to the grips wrapping A rare early set, late 18 to early 19 C.
