We offer for sale this Kilij sword, with a very early blade. It is probably early 18 C. blade, 30 inches long with an 8 inches raised back edge, forged from Sham (Turkish style wootz with low contrast pattern). The grips are black horn, with fingers recesses at the bottom and silver grip strap and cross guard. The scabbard is wood, covered with black leather and fitted with big silver locket and chape. The handle and scabbard are probably mid 19 C. or so. Total length 37 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The scabbard is partially restored. The leather cover is recent.
