This kard knife is of Indian origin, mid 19 C. it has an 8 inches blade forged from good Indian wootz steel (Crystalline) with pattern of moderate contrast. The handle is steel, decorated with gold koftgari work, and with a concealed opening to its hollow chamber through a sliding bar at the top of the handle. Scabbard is wood covered with red velvet and silver tip. Total length 13 inches. Very good condition.
