We offer for sale this good Turkish Shamshir sword, with a blade forged from Sham steel (Turkish / Syrian low contrast wootz), 35 1/2 inches long. The blade is engraved with inscription in Arabic letters on both sides. The grips are rhino horn and the grip strap and cross guard are brass. This sword comes with its original leather covered scabbard with its original classical spiral stitching. Brass suspension rings and dark red suspension baldric. Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Some age cracks on the horn grips and loose ends of the grip strap.
