Up for sale is this very good Turkish Kilij sword with fine wootz (Damascus) blade. Blade 30 1/2 inches long, with raised yelmen (Back edge). Brass cross guard with horn grips bound with twisted brass wires. Total length 35 1/2 inches. Very good condition. The blade shape and dimensions as well as the Wootz structure suggests and early exemplar, probably 18 C. The grips as well as the binding are later, probably late 19 C. A good fighting sword.
