This is a very good matched pair of two Chinese heavy short swords. These types of pairs are sometimes related to the Boxer wars in the turn of the 20 C. but they are not necessarily so, although the dating to the early 1900’s is correct. Heavy, 15 mm thick blades, 19 ½ inches long, 1 ½ inches wide. Brass hand guards with carved wood grips. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks on one of the blades. No scabbard. A good interesting find.
