A very nice Chinese Dao short sword, of the Ching Dynasty, probably late 19th century. The blade is slightly curved short and heavy, 17 inches long, plain and single edged, engraved with a styled dragon partially inlaid with brass. The grip is horn with brass fitting. The scabbard is wood covered with “Sting Ray’ skin and mounted with fittings. Good condition with only minor slightly darkened areas on the blade and minor damages to the Ray skin cover. Very attractive price.
