The sides of the hilt, just above the cross guard are inscribed in Arabic letters in a negative mode, i.e. entirely covered with gold leaving the Arabic letters of black steel. This inscriptions read: Amale. Mohammad Bikar (The work of Mohammad Bikar) and Sahebe Fazel Karim (The owner Fazel Karim) Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Minor losses to the gold inlay on the blade and gold cover on the hilt. A small hole was drilled in the blade, probably for display purposes.
