Chinese Short Sword Dao - 5826
A very nice Chinese Dao short sword, of the Ching Dynasty, probably late 19th century. The slightly curved blade is 21 ½ inches long, plain and single edged. The grip is covered with white (natural color) ‘Sting Ray’ skin and. The Pommel and the disk cross guard are cast and engraved brass. The scabbard is wood covered with black dyed “Sting Ray’ skin and mounted with beautifully engraved brass fittings. Excellent example of a typical ‘Dao’ sword of the last Chinese Dynasty. Very good condition with only minor pitted spots almost un noticeable and minor damages to the Ray skin cover. Very attractive price. |
