The blade of this Pedang sword is very unique and unusual. It is constructed from two strips of twisted steel, forge welded to a laminated steel edge. The twisted steel strips are very deeply etched to emphasize the pattern while the edge strip is kept highly polish. Blade length 18 ½ inches. Beautifully carved black horn handle with silver collar and twisted silver wire binding. Wood scabbard with horn locket and chape. Total length 25 inches. Very good condition. A small sector of horn is missing from the chape. A very unusual item., probably late 19 C.
