A most beautiful late 19th / early 20th C. Islamic copper plate with very rich silver inlaid decoration. The plate is 9 ½ inches in diameter with wavy edge, beautifully, intricately and richly inlaid with floral decoration and Arabic inscription in heavy silver. This type of work is known as ‘Damascus work’, but may have been produced in other countries in the Middle East beside Syria. Very good condition.
