Up for sale is this Vietnamese saber. The single edged grooved blade is slightly curved, narrow 21 ½ inches long forged from good laminated steel with traces of gold inlay. The grip is elephant ivory with chased silver monster head pommel and collar and copper / silver combination guard. The scabbard is wood with brass fittings. Total length 29 inches. Good condition. The silver inlay on the blade is mostly lost. The pommel head is lightly crushed and the silver collar is damaged and repaired. Later scabbard. The forged steel blade with traces of gold inlay indicate an early blade - prior to 1850. very reasonable price.
