Spears like this, with a barbed blade are common to the Konde and Ngoni people of South East Africa: Tanzania and the neighboring areas. The one for sale here is a classical example. 6 ½ inches blade with a 7 inches barbed tang mounted on a 37 inches narrow wood haft, bound with steel strips on both ends. Total length 50 inches. Very good condition. An authentic spear, circa 1910 at a very attractive price. |
