Up for sale is this huge and heavy Ram-Dao, a sacrificial sword from Nepal. It is meant to behead the sacrificed animal in one sword blow, and this is exactly how the blade is designed: Heavy (almost five pounds), 24 inches long, down curving blade with a massive handle. The blade is decorated with engraving and inlaid with brass decoration and red paint. The famous guarding eye is engraved and set with brass at the blade tip. The grips are hard wood on heavy steel tang with a brass pommel disk. Total length 32 inches. A Gregorian date of 1903 (?) is stamped on the blade, with further later stamping on it. It is in a very good condition. A very impressive sword.
