A most beautiful 19th C. copper plate with very rich silver inlaid decoration. The plate is 10 inches in diameter, beautifully, intricately and richly inlaid with floral decoration and Arabic script in heavy silver. This type of work is known as ‘Damascus work’, but may have been produced in other countries in the Middle East beside Syria. Very good condition.
