Kampilan Sword of the T’boli People, Philippines - 8057
Up for sale is this rare version of the Kampilan sword from the Philippines. This version of sword is common to the T’boli group, an old indigenous people living in Cotabato area, south west of Mindanao island. The blade is straight, 18 ½ inches long, widening toward the tip with down curving filed spine . The handle is cast brass decorated with many small brass bells. Wood scabbard covered with fabric woven from some local colorful fiber. Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. Nice age patina on the blade with minor edge nicks. |
