Very Fine Early Indian Shamshir Sword - 8033
Up for sale is this early, probably early 18 C. Shamshir sword, with a 30 inches curved blade of classical Shamshir form forged from fine Wootz steel. The handle is early type Tulwar style, very finely decorated with silver inlay (true inlay) work. Total length 35 inches. Very good condition. One forging fault on the left face of the blade. Little of the silver inlay is erased. No scabbard. This item is coming from the collection of the Calgary Military Institute, Canada and it is marked with the institute inventory number MI-1807. A very fine sword. |
