We offer here for sale this set of two short Chinese straight swords Jian. Both blades are of shallow diamond cross section, 20 inches long, forged from finely laminated steel. Cast brass handles of fine quality with detailed scenes of Dragon and Tiger. Brass cross guards with re curving quillons with a fox (?) face in its centers. Heavy leather scabbard. Total length 36 inches. Very good condition with minor blackened spots and battle scars on the edges. Open seams in the scabbard. A heavy good and unusual item.
