Fine Dagger of the Manding, West Sahara, Africa - 7954

This fine dagger is probably early 20C. from the Manding people of the west Sahara. The double edge blade is 9 ½ inches long, probably forged from an old file. The handle is composed of layers of ivory and horn, with a big ivory pommel and silver collar. Leather scabbard with typical Manding braided leather strips at the top. Total length 14 ½ inches. Very good condition. One of the horn spacers is partially damaged by beetles. |
