Up for sale is this fine and heavy sword, with up curving wide, deadly sharp blade 29 inches long, 2 inches wide, with a 11 inches long raised yelmenn ( back edge). The blade is forged from good pattern welded Damascus steel and clearly marked with the maker sign. The handle is steel, nicely chiseled and covered with very thin gold foil. Total length 34 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened areas on the blade. few pitted areas on the handle with about 10 % of the gold cover lost. This sword comes with what remains from its original fabric covered wood scabbard, but badly damaged and worn (not shown).
