Good Sword of the Yaka - 5788
A very good, old and complete Yaka sword. The Yaka people reside in the southern borders of Zaire, and they developed a sword of very typical shape. The blade is 12 inches long, of an elongated leaf shape with decorated dots punched into the blade steel. The grip is covered with animal hide and the pommel looks like a crown made from steel wires with a long tubular pommel spike. The scabbard is covered with hide and the scabbared tip is widening into a flareshape tail. This sword is dated to the early 20th Century. Very good condition allover. Very low reserve. |
