Early Ottoman Turkish Yataghan Sword - 7795
Up for sale is this early Yataghan, although not dated it is probably a late 18 C. item. The blade is straight, 22 inches long, forged from fine folded steel with heat hardened edge. The blade is decorated in a classical period style with true silver inlay. The grips are elephant ivory on thin layer of black horn, riveted to the tang with steel rivets and black horn rondels. The silver grip strap and bolsters are ( restored). Total length 27 inches. Very good condition. No scabbard. |
