A Rare 19C Indian Fakir Crutch - 7758
Indian Fakirs were not allowed to carry weapons. Instead they were carrying short crutches, almost always containing a concealed blade. Here is a classical example, 19 C. whole steel 19 1/2 Inches long shaft, with a concealed 11 ½ inches long blade. The beautiful handle is in a shape of a horn held by a hand with a lions head pommel. The horn is steel. The palm and lions head pommel are brass or bronze. Very good condition. Some traces of silver Koftgari decoration on the shaft. Total length 22 1/2 inches.
