Up for sale is this very fine shield, 14 inches in diameter, 2 ½ inches high, elaborately decorated with gold and silver koftgary work on its entire face. The four steel bosses are also inlaid with gold and silver work. The reverse side is covered with the original blue fabric with gold flowers and with a central hand cushion and holding strips. Very good plus condition. The decoration style and the fabric condition suggest mid to late 19 C. Indian work. A very fine piece.
