A fine Moroccan Koumaya dagger, with a very good and heavy blade signed W. Singleton & Co., Sheffield. The blade is marked on the other side with an engraved harbor view (?) in a circle. The handle is carved from a massive piece of elephant ivory and set with chased silver pommel. The scabbard is also made of finely chased silver, in a classical Moroccan decoration style. Total length 16 ½ inches. Although not dated, the silver work and the grip patina suggest a mid to late 19 C. dating.
