This type of knife / dagger is called “PIHA KAHETTA”, and it is the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). This specific example has a 6 ˝ inches lavishly inlaid with brass decoration. The grip is wood covered with silver.chased in high relief. Wood scabbard with fluted silver locket. This knife comes with a rare steel stylus covered with silver. Total length is 11 inches. Very good condition. Age patina on the blade with minor pitted spots. Some minor losses to the silver cover of the grip.
